Yummy Noodles

Hi bloggers,

Lets talk about something yummy. Today, as I was preparing noodles
for my children, I just started thinking about the history of noodles,
how it is made and so on. Let me share my findings with you, of course
with some great photographs

It is believed that Chinese invented the noodles for the first time. A team of archaeologists, reporting in the British journal Nature, say there is now
incontrovertible proof that China was faster to the pasta.

They discovered 4,000-year-old long, boiled strands of noodles protected by an upside-down bowl, embedded in a fine, brownish-yellow clay on a terrace of the Yellow River at Lajia, north-western China.
The site, on a flood plain whose sediments are three metres thick, has been under careful excavation since 1999.
The age of the find comes from carbon dating of the sediments in its lay.
The Neolithic noodles show no trace of the durum wheat, bread wheat or barley that usually make up today's pasta.
Instead, they are made from millet, one of the first grass plants to be farmed in the semi-arid plateau of north-western China.
"The noodles were thin (about 0.3 centimetres in diameter), delicate, more than 50 centimetres in length and yellow in colour," say the delighted researchers, led by Lu Houyuan of the Institute of Geology and Geophysics at the Chinese Academy of Sciences in Beijing.
"They resemble the La-Mian noodle, a traditional Chinese noodle that is made by repeatedly pulling and stretching the dough by hand."

How to make noodles without egg
Ingredients:
2 cups Wheat Flour, Whole-grain
1 teaspoons salt, table
3/4 cups Water
1 tablespoons Olive Oil

Instructions:
In a large bowl, mix flour and salt. Add warm water and stir to make a stiff dough. Increase water if dough seems too dry.

Pat the dough into a ball and turn out onto a lightly floured surface. Knead for 10 to 15 minutes. Cover. Let dough rest for 20 minutes.

Roll out with rolling pin to desired thickness, working with 1/4 of dough at a time. Cut into 1/4 to 1/2 thick strips. Let dry for at least 2 hours.

Add to boiling water and cook until soft, about 8-12 minutes.

STROKE IDENTIFICATION:

I got a mail from one of my friends regarding stroke. It contains symptoms of recognising it and calling for help. I thought by sharing it with you all, the information will be useful to many who may be saved from a stroke. The contents are

STROKE IDENTIFICATION:

During a BBQ, a friend stumbled and took a little fall - she assured everyone that she was fine (they offered to call paramedics) .she said she had just tripped over a brick because of her new shoes. They got her cleaned up and got her a new plate of food. While she appeared a bit shaken up, but she went about enjoying herself the rest of the evening
Her husband called later telling everyone that his wife had been taken to the hospital - (at 6:00 pm she passed away.) She had suffered a stroke at the BBQ. Had they known how to identify the signs of a stroke, perhaps she would be with us today. Some don't die. they end up in a helpless, hopeless condition instead.

It only takes a minute to read this...

A neurologist says that if he can get to a stroke victim within 3 hours he can totally reverse the effects of a stroke... totally . He said the trick was getting a stroke recognized, diagnosed, and then getting the patient medically cared for within 3 hours, which is tough.

RECOGNIZING A STROKE

Thank God for the sense to remember the '3' steps, STR . Read and Learn! Sometimes symptoms of a stroke are difficult to identify. Unfortunately, the lack of awareness spells disaster. The stroke victim may suffer severe brain damage when people nearby fail to recognize the symptoms of a stroke.

Now doctors say a bystander can recognize a stroke by asking three simple questions:

S * Ask the individual to SMILE.
T * Ask the person to TALK and SPEAK A SIMPLE SENTENCE (Coherently)(i.e. It is sunny out today.)
R * Ask him or her to RAISE BOTH ARMS.

If he or she has trouble with ANY ONE of these tasks, call emergency number immediately and describe the symptoms to the dispatcher.

New Sign of a Stroke -------- Stick out Your Tongue

NOTE: Another 'sign' of a stroke is this: Ask the person to 'stick' out his tongue.. If the tongue is 'crooked', if it goes to one side or the other , that is also an indication of a stroke.

Best parental behaviour:

Case 1 : Child son/daughter has broken a showpiece. There is a big bang
and the child is afraid. You have noticed it. The child takes a few steps backwards and cringes to the wall. What will you do?

1. Shout at the child for the wrong behaviour
2. Slap the child so that it is not repeated
3. warn the child of consequences if such things happen in future
4. hug the child and tell not to worry

Though the first three behaviours are normally the behaviour of any irritated parent, the fourth behaviour brings the best results.

1.Shouting at the child will indicate that whenever somebody commits such mistake in future, the child has to shout. So the child may shout the next time you or any of your friends or family members do such things in front of the child.

2.Slapping the child who is already afraid, may increase the fear in the mind of the child which may even result in the child becoming very timid and psychologically disturbed. On the other hand, the child may also become very violent. He takes it as a licence to hit anybody, be it friends or siblings when they commit such things.

3. Warning the child, although is better than the first two behaviours,
Will only make the child over cautious and the child may act consciously. But the same thing may give the child a freedom to warn you also if you do something which the child does not like.

4.Hugging the child is the most unexpected thing for the child. The child is already afraid and cringes to the wall, He expects that something bad awaits him for what he has done. But he has done it unintentionally . Hence if the child is hugged and told not to worry, initially, the fear in the mind of the child for the parent goes and the child becomes more friendly and closer. At that time the parent can explain to him that he has to be very careful while handling such things. The child not only learns how to handle a delicate thing, he also learns how to handle many delicate things in life. He will present the most dignified attitude during a crisis.

All of us want our child to behave in the manner mentioned in point no.4,
So why not we in the first instance?

Hi bloggers,

This is about one person whom I admire for her creative thinking and sense
of humour. I happened to read a blog of one of my cousins.
The narrative and the style in which it is presented makes it very interesting
lively. She also narrates various life incidents in a jovial and understandable
fashion for which she gets accolades from various viewers. She gives various
Tamil movie and song titles for each of her blogs which indicates the gist
of what we can expect from the blog but in the most unexpected way. I
personally feel that humour is an art and making others enjoy the humour is
an art in itself. I really enjoy her blogs.
