what a coincidence

Some decades back, there was a boy who went with his father on a picnic. Attracted by a pool nearby, the boy wanted to have a try. As he did not know swimming properly, he could not keep afloat and was drowning. He shouted for help. There were no people nearby. Just then a poor boy who was working in a field nearby heard it . He rushed to the spot and just in time, he saved the other boy. The boy's father thanked him profusely. He enquired about the boy, his family and his ambition. The boy said he wanted to become a doctor and serve people. Since he was poor, he could not afford it and hence he could not pursue his ambition. Just then, the boy's father offered to sponsor for the boy's higher studies. The boy was very thrilled and immediately agreed.

Once Winston churchill fell ill, he had a very bad flu which was deteriorating his health. Just then he sent a word to Alexander Fleming who had discovered pencillin by that time. He administered pencillin on Winston Churchill and he was saved.

Is there any relationship between the two incidents? Yes you are right.

Winston Churchill thanked Fleming and said you have saved my life twice. Yes, Fleming was the boy who saved the life of the boy who was drowning and the drowning boy was none other than
Winston Churchill himself. What a coincidence!

tips for good living

1. smile at people you know and whom you want to know, A smile generates warmth and also brings in positive vibrations.

2. Enjoy the company of small children as they are really creative, lovable and thought provoking.

3. Appreciate immediately. (when you find something good in a person, give your appreciation immediately). Some people feel good about others deeds or words but they are not spontaneous in their appreciation. The best time to appreciate is immediately since your whole face and body language will reflect the appreciation. Otherwise you will have to live in that moment again to remember!

4. When you are in a bad mood or want to vent out your anger on someone, for a moment imagine that the other person is no more. If you vent your anger and if it goes beyond bounds, you may not have another chance to show your remorse if that person is no more. So express yourself in a calm manner.

the happiness of sharing

thank you all bloggers who have visited my site.

hope it is going on interestingly.

Giving is more satisfying than receiving

One day, on my way back home with my son, I just happened to come across a small tora tora which is mobile and some person has made it his profession to entertain small kids by giving them a ride for a small amount. My son was amused at the thought. Since the amount was affordable and i too wanted to enjoy the pleasure of him riding it, I consented. While he was enjoying, I could see a small local boy from a slum, of a lesser age than my son looking at the ride with yearning in his eyes. I immediately thought that he should also share my son's happiness. What surprised me was the fact that my son was also of the same opinion and he just hinted it in his own style. (I was so glad that I am bringing up a real human being rather than a high flyer with no manners or compassion). I paid the man and asked him to give a ride to the boy. By then, my son's turn was over. He got down. What was most surprising was that the man who also is not well off, offered to give a free ride to my son for having helped the poor boy. From this i came to a conclusion that the poor and the needy understand the needs of other needies better than we do. What a great gesture on his part.

I could see the great pleasure in the eyes of the boy when he was offered the ride. That happiness Iam very sure will not get even if I get the highest prize. I was so happy that day and i still relish the sight with musing memories.

Please try to locate such people with small needs and help them. You can see god in their eyes.

cuties

These kids look so cute. With an innocent smile on their face and a godliness in their appearance, they bring freshness into our life.

The first one reminds me of my nephew who is so lovable and cute. He always wears a smile on his face and is very friendly. just like the first kid.

The second cutie reminds me of my neice whom her mother adorned as a male deity but she looked so perfect and attractive that we could not take our eyes from the photograph.

Children are real gifts of god, and with good mothers they really shine well.

One more cutie is expected to arrive, then i will be blogging about her also.

Wll keep adding more to my blog about various people i came across and the best i found in them.

relief from backache

Are you suffering from painful backache, discomfort and radiating pain in the legs? Has the doctor diagnosed it as disc prolapse?

got some information about it from one of my friends. Thought i can share it with you all.

The factors leading to disc prolapse may be smoking, increased coughing, sitting in a stooped posture, lifting heavy weights, driving etc. There is a gelatinous central portion in the disc called the nucleus puposis and this has got an outer ring of ligaments called the Annulus Fibrosus. The disc functions as a hydraulic cylinder. A tear in the annulus leads to disc dysfunction. It also leads to leakage from the nuclear material which is toxic to the nerves. The result is an inflammation which causes a neural irritation with radiating pain in the legs. This may be accompanied with numbness and loss of reflex.

For this the relief was a surgical procedure which involved the removal of the entire lamina of the spine to approach the disc. The surgical scar was long and the patient had to be restricted to the bed for 2 to 3 months.

Nowadays, a technique called keyhole technique is followed wherein the system utilizes operating microscopes to visualize the nerve structures.

The procedure is called endoscopic discectomy which is minimally invasive less muscle, bone and ligament disruption and allows faster healing. The patients who undergo this procedure can be discharged with minimal soreness and complete relief from leg pain after an overnight admission and observation.

The incision will be of less than 1 cm size further minimizing disruption of normal structures.

Advantages of this system are

1. Avoidance of general anaesthesia
2. smaller incision and scar
3. shorter stay in hospital
4. less post operative pain
5. quicker return to hospital.

hi friends from all over the world blogging and viewing my blog,

I am planning to share a lot of informations to all who are interested in viewing.

Today, Let me start with the person who has made it possible for us to keep in touch with our kiths, kins, friends, colleagues, bosses, subordinates, acquaintances, business associates and what not!
wherever they are. Today, we are in the modern era of internet and chatting. But the seed for all this was sown by a person who has got a bell in his name which probably has motivated him to make this bell ring in everybody's ears.

First, we have to pay our tribute to Alexander Graham Bell, who has made it possible for us.

Recently, I read a small information about him which was very touching.

The person who has made it possible for us to call our home from wherever we are has never
used his phone to call home. I was surprised to read this, as anybody who invents something will try to use it personally and get the comments of the family. But how is it that he had not used it even once. The next part of the passage gave me the answer. His wife and daughter could not hear and so he could not use his telephone to call his home.He is truly great to have invented something only for others and not for himself or his family.

What a great person he was! He has truly invented something which will be used by the whole world and which has laid the foundation for many versions of the phone. I really salute him for
his magnonimity.

Thank you for all my visitors and followers. keep blogging and viewing.

MAGNIFICENT MARINA

Marina Beach is a beach in the city of Chennai, India, along the Bay of Bengal, part of the Indian Ocean. The beach runs from near Fort St. George in the north to Besant Nagar in the south, a distance of about 12 km.[1] The Marina is primarily sandy, unlike the short, rocky formations that make up the Juhu Beach in Mumbai on the west coast of India . Marina is the second longest beach in the world.

A visit to the Marina is considered a must for any tourist coming to Chennai.

Marina beach is a major tourist attraction. People visiting Chennai make a point to visit the beach. The beach is popular for its shops and food stalls. The memorials and statues, morning walk, joggers' track, lovers' spot, aquarium, etc., make it a hangout for people of all ages. The sea is rough and waves are strong. There are fishermen colonies present at both ends of the beach.
Bathing/swimming is illegal at Marina beach and there are no lifeguards stationed here.

The Chennai Corporation took up the Marina Renovation Project in 2008 which aims at improving landscaping, seating arrangements, walkways and lighting along the promenade and is near completing the work of renovating the beach at a cost of 259.2 million Indian Rupees. There is a skating rink behind the Gandhi Statue which has been improved with hand rails and tiles on the periphery under the Marina Renovation Project. A total of 14 galleries with seating arrangements have been created on the 2.8-km stretch between Triumph of Labour Statue and the Light House. The 3-km stretch from the Anna Square to the Light House has uninterrupted pavement and a sub-road parallel to the main road.

As part of "Chennai Forever" initiative by Tamil Nadu government, a 34-feet tall, artificial Marina Waterfall was installed in September 2005 at a cost of 1.5 million Indian Rupees.

On December 26, 2004, a tsunami caused by an earthquake struck the shores of Chennai at around 8:30 AM. The entire coastline of Chennai, including Marina beach, was affected. Sea water engulfed the entire Marina beach.

The New Marina

The renovated Marine Beach was formally declared open on Sunday 20.12.09.

Walking along the famous Marina beach will never be the same again for locals and tourists, with viewing galleries, landscaping and fountains, created as part of a beautification project,

The entire 3.10 km stretch from Labour statue to the Light House now sports a new look, with 14 galleries, a four metre internal walkway along the sands and fountains. A high-tech lighting arrangement has also been put in place to enable visitors enjoy the scenic beauty of the beach at night.

Also on the anvil are facilities like parking areas, creation of children's playing area, facility for physically challenged and setting up of a food court.
